To encourage and promote entrepreneurship among the Scheduled Castes who are oriented towards innovations and growth technologies by supporting the Bank and Financial Institutions [designated as Members Lending Institutions (MLIs) for the Scheme], in the form of Credit Enhancement Guarantee (minimum Rs.0.15 crore and maximum Rs.5.00 crore) against Working Capital Loans, Term Loans or Composite Terms Loans granted by (Money Lending Institutions) MLIs to SC entrepreneurs.

2 Scheme For Residential Education For Students in High Schools in Targeted Areas (SHRESHTA)

The main objective behind the scheme is to involve the voluntary sector and training institutions of repute to improve educational and socioeconomic conditions of the target group i.e. Scheduled Castes with a view to upgrade skill to enable them to start income generating activities on their own or get gainfully employed in some sector or the other. The principle that good voluntary organizations should not only be assisted but also consciously built up has been guiding spirit behind the formulation of the Scheme.

3 National Action for Mechanised Sanitation Ecosystem (NAMASTE)

The Namaste Scheme aims to rehabilitate manual scavengers and those involved in hazardous sewer and septic tank cleaning, promoting safe, mechanized cleaning through trained sanitation workers. The scheme includes profiling of sanitation workers at the ULB level, offering health insurance under AB-PMJAY, occupational safety training, PPE kits, and capital subsidies for sanitation projects. The goal is to empower workers as "SANIPRENEURS."

4 National Overseas Scholarship (NOS) Scheme for SC etc. candidates

For regular, full-time students from Scheduled Castes, Denotified Nomadic and Semi Nomadic Tribes, Landless Agricultural Labourers and Traditional Artisans; to obtain higher education viz., Master degree or Ph.D courses by studying abroad in Institutions/Universities accredited by the Government/authorized body of that country in any field of study.

5 Pre- Matric Scholarships Scheme for Scheduled Castes & Others

This program provides financial aid to parents of children from Scheduled Castes and other disadvantaged groups to help them afford their children's education at the Pre-Matric level. The students shall be given a consolidated academic allowance. In addition, a 10% extra allowance shall be given to Divyang (Disabled) students.

6 Post-Matric Scholarship for SC students

The objective of the scheme is to appreciably increase the Gross Enrolment Ratio of SC students in higher education with a focus on those from the poorest households, by providing financial assistance at post-matriculation or post-secondary stage to enable them to complete their education.

7 Pradhan Mantri Anusuchit Jaati Abhyuday Yojana (PM AJAY)

Aims to increase income and reduce poverty among the target population through income-generating schemes, skill development, and infrastructure improvements. It promotes entrepreneurship, offers a subsidy of up to Rs 10,000 or 50% of the loan per beneficiary, and provides skill training aligned with the National Framework. The scheme also focuses on infrastructure development in SC-majority villages and enhances capacity building. States/UTs can allocate up to 3% of released funds for monitoring and evaluation, and 1% for administrative expenses related to the scheme’s supervision.

8 Central Sector Scholarship of Top Class Education for SC Students

Payment of Full tuition fee and non-refundable charges (Ceiling of Rs. 2.00 LPA per student for private sector institutions; Ceiling of Rs.3.72 LPA per student for the private sector flying clubs for Commercial Pilot Training and Type Rating Courses)
Living expenses: ₹ 3000/- per month per student.
Books and stationery: ₹ 5000/- per annum per student.
A computer/laptop with accessories (UPS and printer) limited to ₹ 45000/- per student (one-time assistance).

9 Upgradation of Merit of SC Students

The objective of the Scheme is to upgrade the merit of SC students by providing them remedial and special coaching in classes IX to XII. While the remedial coaching aims at removing deficiencies in various subjects, the special coaching is provided with a view to prepare the students for competitive examinations for seeking entry into professional courses like engineering and medical disciplines.

10 National Fellowship for Scheduled Caste Students

The scheme provides five-year fellowships in the form of financial assistance to students from SC categories, as notified by the Central Government to pursue higher studies such as M.Phil. and Ph.D. at Indian Universities/Institutions/Colleges. There are 2000 slots for Scheduled Caste every year for all the subjects. 3% fellowships are reserved for Persons with Disabilities candidates belonging to SC categories as per the provision laid down by the Government of India.

11 Free Coaching Scheme for SC and OBC Students

Provides coaching of good quality for economically disadvantaged Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Other Backward Classes (OBCs) candidates to enable them to appear in competitive examinations for obtaining appropriate jobs in the Public/Private Sector and/or for securing admission in reputed technical and professional higher education institutions.

12 Coaching Schemes For SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy Layer) & Minority Students For Universities

Coaching schemes for students from SC, ST, OBC (non-creamy layer), and minority communities aim to provide equal opportunities in higher education by bridging educational gaps and enhancing competitiveness. The Commission offers remedial coaching at UG and PG levels, coaching for service entry, and preparation for the NET/SET exams. These schemes focus on improving academic skills, strengthening foundational knowledge, and reducing dropout rates. They also provide career guidance, counseling, and preparation for competitive exams like IAS and bank recruitment.

13 National Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation (NSFDC)

For financing income generating activities of SC beneficiaries having annual family income upto Rs. 3.00 lakh. NSFDC assists the target group by way of loans, Skill Training, Entrepreneurship Development Programmes and providing Marketing Support through State Channelizing Agencies (SCAs), RRBs, Public Sector Bank & other institutions.

14 Scheme of Assistance to Scheduled Castes Development Corporations (SCDCs)

The Central and State Governments share capital contributions for the State Scheduled Castes Development Corporations (SCDCs) in a 49:51 ratio to support the economic development of Scheduled Castes and other weaker sections. SCDCs identify eligible SC families, provide financial assistance, and facilitate credit through partnerships with banks and development corporations. They sponsor economic schemes and offer margin money, low-interest loans, and subsidies to reduce repayment burdens. SCDCs fund employment-oriented projects in agriculture, small-scale industry, transport, trade, and services.

15 Venture Capital Fund for SCs and OBCs

Aims to promote entrepreneurship among Backward Classes (BCs) by providing concessional finance to support innovative and growth-oriented businesses. The scheme encourages wealth creation, employment, and financial inclusion, while fostering economic development and forward/backward linkages. It is a national initiative focused on developing BC entrepreneurs, with a specific emphasis on increasing women’s participation. The fund helps businesses in manufacturing, services, and allied sectors, with eligibility based on shareholding and management control by BC entrepreneurs. Additionally, it promotes startups and ensures asset creation through the funded projects.

16 Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP)

To generate employment opportunities in rural as well as urban areas of the country through the setting up of new self-employment ventures/projects/micro enterprises. To bring together widely dispersed traditional artisans! rural and urban unemployed youth and give them self-employment opportunities to the extent possible, at their place. To provide continuous and sustainable employment to a large segment of traditional and prospective artisans and rural and urban unemployed youth in the country, so as to help arrest migration of rural youth to urban areas. To increase the wage-earning capacity of workers and artisans and contribute to an increase in the growth rate of rural and urban employment.

17 Standup India Scheme

The Stand-Up India scheme facilitates bank loans between 10 lakh and 1 crore to atleast one Scheduled Caste and Scheduled tribe borrower per bank branch for setting up a greenfield enterprise.

18 Deendayal Antyodaya yojana –National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM)

Aims to reduce poverty by enabling the poor household to access gainful self-employment and skilled wage employment opportunities resulting in sustainable and diversified livelihood options for the poor. The Mission seeks to achieve its objective through investing in four core components viz., (a) social mobilization and promotion and strengthening of self-managed and financially sustainable community institutions of the rural poor women; (b) financial inclusion; (c) sustainable livelihoods; and (d) social inclusion, social development and access to entitlements through convergence.

19 Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM)

Aims to reduce poverty and vulnerability among urban poor households by promoting self-employment, skilled wage opportunities, and sustainable livelihoods through strong grassroots institutions. It seeks to provide shelters with essential services for the urban homeless in phases. Additionally, the mission addresses livelihood concerns of urban street vendors by facilitating access to spaces, credit, social security, and skills to tap into emerging market opportunities.

21 Pradhan Mantri Jandhan Yojana (PMJDY)

Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) is National Mission for Financial Inclusion to ensure access to financial services, namely, a basic savings & deposit accounts, remittance, credit, insurance, pension in an affordable manner. Under the scheme, a basic savings bank deposit (BSBD) account can be opened in any bank branch or Business Correspondent (Bank Mitra) outlet, by persons not having any other account.

22 Ambedkar Social Innovation and Incubation Mission (ASIIM)

Aims to promote innovation and entrepreneurship among SC students in higher education. The initiative will identify 1,000 SC youth over 4 years with start-up ideas and provide Rs. 30 lakh in equity funding through Technology Business Incubators (TBIs). Successful ventures can qualify for venture funding up to Rs. 15 crore from the Venture Capital Fund for Scheduled Castes (VCF-SC). ASIIM will support these entrepreneurs with mentoring, guidance, and financial assistance, empowering SC youth to transition from job-seekers to job-givers.

23 Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban (PMAY-U)

Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U), being implemented since June 2015, is one of the major flagship programmes being implemented by Government of India under Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) to provide all weather pucca houses to all eligible beneficiaries in the urban areas of the country through States/UTs/Central Nodal Agencies. The scheme covers the entire urban area of the country, i.e., all statutory towns as per Census 2011 and towns notified subsequently, including Notified Planning/ Development Areas. The scheme is being implemented through four verticals: Beneficiary Led Construction/ Enhancement (BLC), Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP), In-situ Slum Redevelopment (ISSR) and Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS). In August 2022, the Union Cabinet approved continuation of PMAY-U up to 31st December 2024 with all verticals, except CLSS, for the completion of already sanctioned houses till 31st March 2022.

24 National Rural Health Mission

Aims to provide demand-driven wage employment to rural households, ensuring livelihood security. It aims to create sustainable rural infrastructure while reducing poverty. The scheme promotes inclusive development by providing equal work opportunities, especially to marginalized communities. It also ensures timely payment and compensation for delayed wages.

26 Ayushman Bharat - PMJAY

Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY is the largest health assurance scheme in the world which aims at providing free health cover of Rs. 5 lakhs per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization to over 12 crores poor and vulnerable families (approximately 55 crore beneficiaries) that form the bottom 40% of the Indian population. As on 15th November 2023, 27.16 crore beneficiaries have been issued Ayushman Card. Further, 5.9 crore free hospital admissions have been authorized under the scheme.

28 PM Ujjwala Yojana

Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) is a flagship scheme lauched by Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India aimed at providing free LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) connections to adult women from poor households. Launched in 2016, PMUY aims to empower women, reduce indoor air pollution, and promote clean cooking fuel. The program has significantly increased access to clean energy for millions of households across India. After distribution of around 9.6 Cr LPG connections the scheme has been extended to benefit an additional 75 lakh households, accompanied by a ₹300 subsidy on LPG refills for PMUY beneficiaries, reinforcing the commitment to expanding access to clean energy across India.

30 PM SVANidhi

The scheme is a Central Sector Scheme i.e. fully funded by Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs with the following objectives: (i) To facilitate working capital loan up to 10,000; (ii) To incentivize regular repayment; and (iii) To reward digital transactions The scheme will help formalize the street vendors with above objectives and will open up new opportunities to this sector to move up the economic ladder.
